For the past couple years I have wanted to do a back to school session. I had a vision of desks, apples, pencils, books and globes all in my mind for the perfect session. As many of you know, teaching is another major passion of mine so doing a back to school session definitely made me excited. With only a little bit left of summer left I offered a small mini session for a couple families to participate in before those kiddos headed back to school. I loved this session for so many reasons but mainly because they aren’t those standard backdrop pictures you receive from school. These were personalities of the children and their real smiles and laughs. Enjoy!

So, my brother is learning so much about photography these days that I am getting to the point where I can’t answer his questions anymore! I knew it would eventually get to this stage. Jeremy is a person who loves watching tutorials, being up to date on the latest trends etc… aka not my cup of tea! Needless to say I am SO excited that he is getting more and more into photography because now I will learn these things and we can share and talk photography talk! 🙂 All of these images are from my brothers camera and I love them!
In the middle of a Texas summer, one would think there wouldn’t be much green….but it was truly beautiful this time! We literally pulled off the side of the road for all of these images! Sometimes you just need one perfect spot…even if you have to crop out a few road signs 😉
Thanks J for capturing new pictures for me and my KKP fans!
I traveled to Austin, Texas a few weeks ago like I normally do every summer to see my brother and sister in law. I”ve traveled to texas every year multiple times a year ever since my brother moved out there to go to school. My brother and I have that type of relationship that every parent wants for their children. Jeremy and I love seeing each other and being around each other which is why I”ve traveled out there a lot the past 9 years. One year I traveled to Texas and met Ashley, Jeremy”s new girlfriend and loved her from the moment we met. Two years ago they married online casinos and now are expecting their first child and my first nephew! I cannot wait to meet baby Grey! We will welcome him in October!
LOVE this one!
Perfect sunrise session! It was worth it to wake up so early!
This sweet little family just welcomed their first child, Anna Lane! Congratulations Quinn and Jennifer!
Jennifer and I have taught together for the past three years. We were all so excited when she announced that she was expecting but all thinking “are we going to loose her?!”. Unfortunately we are loosing her as a teacher for the year but hope she comes back to teaching soon! Jennifer is one of those teachers that students and teachers talk about forever. She is the most caring, sweet and passionate person ever! She has received teacher of the year for the past three years…yes she is that great! We are sad to loose you casino online but hope you come visit us often! Congratulations to this beautiful family!!
In June, I traveled to OBX, North Carolina. This trip was a week trip with two of my best friends and their families. The trip wouldn’t be a normal vacation because at the end of it we would be watching and celebrating a marriage. Holly and Mike were engaged for almost three years before they tied the knot on June 26, 2014 on Corolla Beach, NC. The entire week Holly was checking the weather, rain, rain, rain on the day of the wedding. I never look at weather for this reason, I just don’t even believe those weather guys…so I kept saying it’ll be fineeee. Even with weather in the forecast we decided to pick a night to go to the bay side and take some pictures around a beautiful lighthouse, waterfront and sunset just to be safe.
With great pictures from the trial run I was feeling great about the wedding day. With rain…still in the forecast we woke up on a thursday morning and it just didn’t look like rain. It was a beautiful day! Early thursday morning Holly and Mike hiked to the beach to save their spot for where they would be married later that day. All day we prepared for last minute details like making signs, making a boutonniere for Mike and adhering any last minute glue that we needed. Around 4pm we hauled all of the supplies up to the beach and started to set up. I sat in a beach chair and watched (ha, yes I did!) and dictated where things should go while videoing for Holly who was at the house getting ready. Hollys brother, Josh did an amazing job while I told him “a little higher, ehhh a little to the right” etc. Hollys mom, sister and aunt set up the seashells for a walkway and made sure everything was in place for the perfect setting of a beautiful beach wedding. Here are a few of my favorites!
Oh, Tucker you are my favorite subject!
This one still makes me tear, I love a father daughter relationship like this one!
I love this picture for SO many reasons! I love that Holly looked right at me when he was announcing them married and that it looks like Mike is getting reprimanded! Heheh 🙂
This is just perfect!
It made me so happy that I was asked to be in one with everyone! I adore this picture 🙂
I can hear Mikes laugh right now and it makes me always laugh too! Love this one!
Three of my favorites!
Reception followed a month later at Sunny Slope Farm in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Love you guys!! xoxo -Kay
